Keep it Clean & Classy TMcD....

My AM workout was very successful. I truly love my morning workouts. Everything is new and fresh. I feel most vibrant and energetic first thing in the morning. It's as the day goes on that my energy wears down. I think that most people can relate.
After my training with Duane www.dmfit.org and morning cardio it was off to school. I was running tight on time so I decided to play it safe and have my Myoplex protein shake instead of making my own. I love the taste of EAS products and they are great when you don't have much time. They are great for grab and go. Plus they come in different blends such as carb control or lite. Each has a different amount of protein. I usually have a 42g for breakfast since this is the only thing I have in the morning. I have a 20g for a mid-afternoon snack.

Lunch consisted of chicken fajitas from Mexico Lindo. I know, I know..this is not the healthiest. I refrained from the cheese covered re-fried beans and stuck solely to the protein and veggies. I did have a little bit of the rice. I topped it off with a diet Coke. This is one area that I think truly adds to the waist line. I notice a significant difference when I have been eating clean for several days and I have a regular soda. My stomach distends and bloats. The sugar heads straight for the muffin tops!!!! Cutting out soda will seriously reduce the inches of your waist line.
Post work day work out. I wasn't really feeling a work out after work today. I had a massive headache, but earlier in the afternoon Heidi said she would do stadiums  with me. I decided to suck it up and do WORK. We arrived at the stadium ready to rock. We walked a lap around and did a full track warm up i.e., butt kicks, grapevines, toe touches, etc.. It's very important to get your muscles ready to work to prevent cramping and injury.

Many times when I plan a workout it can be quite intimidating. One way I keep myself from being overwhelmed or discouraged is to set smaller and obtainable goals. When starting a new regiment it's important to give your mind and body time to adjust. I know better than everyone how frustrating it is to see people do twice as much, twice as hard right by you and you think...why can't I do that??? I always had a tendency in the gym to focus on other peoples workouts and feel discouraged. I had to remember that I don't know their fitness ability, goals and background. My workout should be about me and what I want to accomplish. Forget everyone else!
So with my new workout partner in tow, I decided that we would start with two sprints on the straights of the stadium. I was excited and ready to go! We started off the line and kept toe to toe. Then before you know it Heidi was pulling away from me! I was like damn. She's got some speed. I was very impressed. I think its fun working out with someone. It creates this natural competition that is fun and makes you want to push yourself. She definitely beat me hands down in the second round.
After sprints we hit the stadiums. We decided to take on the end zone. We made it through one full rotation. After a good gulp of water and a catch of the breath we finished off the workout with a full series up the bleachers to the very top! Ladies, theses are butt blasters! It's amazing. They trick you too. You don't feel like its that hard until your about 20 rows from the top and all of sudden it hits you....complete fatigue and exhaustion. Your legs start to tremble and your chest gets tight, but you look up and you're like damn...I'm almost there. It is so difficult and yet so rewarding to get to the top!

I love sitting at the very top of the stadium and catching my breath. The breeze is completely invigorating and soothing all at the same time. One of my favorite parts about working out at the stadium is the inspiration I feel in the Swamp. I always think of the players and the struggles they feel. When I feel like giving up or stopping I think of my favorite players....Demps, Burton, Rainey....well lets be honest...I love all the Gators :)  They find it within themselves to push harder. Its easy to give up. It's easy to quit. There is nothing greater in this world than pushing yourself to the limit and making it through. Find a place, person or thing that gives you this drive! It helps so much.
We left the Swamp and headed home. It was time to hit the grocery store. I have been slacking on my home cooking so it was time to get prepared. I think one of the largest parts of being successful in your weight-loss program is PREPAREDNESS!  When I am unprepared I make bad choices for my food. I need to make a plan. I look at the week ahead and try to figure out what days are rougher than others. One of the hardest things to do is balance schedules and life.
My schedule this week is somewhat flexible. I know that this weekend will be busy so I planned to get some quick and easy meals. One of the most important tips I have read in many fitness books and blogs is where to shop in the store. Stay on the outer isles of the store and avoid the middle! It's amazing how true this statement is. Most of the inner isles contain sugar loaded foods. I try to buy mainly fresh foods although we do eat a lot of wheat pasta and rice.
One of the most frustrating things that has happened with food distribution is the mislabeling of products. Just because it says reduced fat doesn't necessarily mean its good for you. If it seems to good to be true....it definitely is...put it down and walk away! lol Michael and I spent a plethora of time reading labels and looking at what's in a product. I have been able to find some great items that are healthy and tasty. When it comes to grocery shopping I like to keep it clean and classy! lol Fresh foods and protein. NO DAIRY!!!!! Dairy=devil!

I think this basket full of goodies looks pretty delicious! For dinner I decided to go with the Margaritaville Lime Shrimp and brown rice. It was pretty quick and easy, which is always a plus! Overall, I think it was a pretty successful day :)
Gym in the am! Now for a good night of ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ's!
